More needs to be done to help border businesses who are trading in the UK

More needs to be done to help border businesses who are trading in the UK despite fluctuations in the sterling rate.

That’s the call of Fianna Fail TD Brendan Smith who’s called on the Government to have specific measures introduced to assist businesses that are heavily dependent on exporting to the sterling area.

In response to a Parliamentary Question by Deputy Smith, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor stated that the Government is acutely conscious of the uncertainty created by Brexit and the need to consider the types of support Irish businesses need.

Deputy Smith says that the government are not taking on board the magnitude of the issue.
