New climate change series to make tackling global warming relevent to local region

A new climate change series beginning tomorrow aims to make tackling global warming more relevant for Cavan and Monaghan.

The Journal.ie have compiled a series of articles, following two months of research, which will look at how communities and parishes throughout the country can localise and individualise their efforts.

Cormac Fitzgerald who was a lead journalist for the series stated that following a visit to the Shannonside Northern Sound Region, it became clear many people knew there was a need to replace peat extraction for electricity.

However, no solutions have been provided for this, in addition to a lack of information provided as to feasible ways for people in the region to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
