The new community centre in Magheracloone with be “bigger and better” than before.

Last Saturday the existing community centre and GAA clubhouse in south Monaghan were demolished as part of ongoing works.

The buildings had been condemned following subsidence in the area.

In August, Gyproc said the demolition was “necessary” but committed to replacing the lost facilities.

In a post on Facebook, Martin Carroll, Chairperson of the Magheracloone Community Centre said “it was sad to see 40 years of memories levelled, but brighter days are on the horizon”.
