New fire safety tests for residential buildings over six storeys high

Residential buildings over six storeys high will undergo new fire safety tests.

The Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy has confirmed the checks will take place nationwide in the wake of the Grenfell tower block blaze in London.

A special task force, created to carry out the assessments has already started work in Dublin.

In the UK, all school buildings taller than four storeys are being analysed.
