Cavan has been chosen as one of four regional centres to offer Trinity College’s new course in Innovation and Enterprise Development.
The 20-week programme covers topics including design thinking, leadership and company set-up.
The aim of the programme is to prepare Ireland for digitalisation, which is described as the “fourth industrial revolution”.
It is feared that many jobs could soon be lost to automation and this scheme aims to help those at risk of losing their jobs as a result of this.
The programme is free for those in receipt of jobseekers benefits.
For those in employment, 90 per cent of the three hundred euro course fees will be subsidised.
It is hoped that the scheme will make Trinity more accessible for people outside of Dublin.
The deadline for applications is Friday 23rd August and there will be an information evening in the Cavan Innovation and Technology Centre on Thursday 23rd August.
