A priest, who served for many years in New Jersey, will be laid to rest in his native Monaghan in the coming days.
Monsignor Sean Flynn was a retired priest of the Diocese of Trenton in New Jersey.
He passed away on Monday at the age of 75.
During his years of service in the Trenton Diocese, his parish assignments included serving as parochial vicar in a number of parishes.
As pastor he served in many parishes in the diocese.
He also held numerous positions including dean of the Central Monmouth Deanery.
He was invested a Chaplain to His Holiness with the title of monsignor in 1993.
His funeral notice notes he will be forever loved by his siblings, nieces, nephews neighbours and all who knew and loved him.
His Bishop, Brother Priests, Deacons, and Parishioners in the Catholic Diocese of Trenton, New Jersey will forever miss and pray for him.
Monsignor Sean will repose at his brother, Martin's home in Drumslavog, Scotstown today and tomorrow from 4pm until 10pm.
His funeral procession will arrive at St Marys Church, Urbleshanny on Friday morning for 11am Funeral Mass, with burial is adjoining cemetery.
