No homelessness crisis in Monaghan

There’s no homelessness crisis in Monaghan, according to the Chair of the County’s Housing Committee.

Concerns were raised over the amount spend on homelessness services in the county this week, with Sinn Féin’s Seán Conlon calling for more to be done.

However Fine Gael’s Seán Gilliland, who chairs the Council’s housing committee, says more isn’t being spent because it doesn’t need to be.

He says the County Council is spending enough money on the issue and more isn’t warranted.
