Northeast Doctor on Call remind people to be aware of their Eircode for over the Christmas period

The Northeast Doctor on Call is reminding people to be aware of their Eircode for over the Christmas period.

NEDOC provides urgent out of hours GP care, when surgeries close in the evening and over the course of weekends and bank holidays.

There are four treatment centres in the region, in Navan, Cavan, Castleblayney and Drogheda.

Every Christmas the service is very busy, and last year the service received 5 thousand calls in total to the service.

That’s around 500 calls a day over the course of the 10 day Christmas holiday.

The opening hours for this Christmas are as follows.

From 6pm this Friday until Wednesday morning at 8am.

And again next Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm until 8am the next morning.

And finally from 6pm next Friday the 30th, until 8am on Tuesday January the 3rd.

NEDOC can be reached by dialling 1850 777 911

Arlene Fitzsimons – Operations Manager with NEDOC – is reminding people that their Eircode is vitally important when ringing for an ambulance or for Doc on Call.
