One child died, and three more went missing at childcare services in the local Tusla region in 2019.

64 complaints made against child minding facilities in the Dublin North-East region so far this year, which covers Cavan and Monaghan, as well as Louth, Meath and north Dublin.

Nationally there were 116 incidents in the first six months of the year, up 35 per cent on 2018.

The majority of the complaints in the local region were for serious injury to a child, with seven children diagnosed with an infectious disease and two centres closing after an incident.
