One local application for Fodder Production Incentive Measure

There was only one application locally to the Fodder Production Incentive Measure.

From a total of 1,701 applications submitted to the Department of Agriculture, one of which was in Monaghan, with no submissions in Cavan. The scheme was introduced this summer to encourage farmers to sow crops that would reduce the fodder deficit, with around 19,400 hectares sown since August.

A breakdown of figures from the department showed the scheme was most popular in Wexford, Cork and Laois – with 378, 243 and 150 applications respectively.
