Parties meeting to discuss formation of next Government

Fianna Fáil’s Parliamentary Party is meeting to discuss the fallout from the weekend’s elections.

While Sinn Féin continues to meet with smaller parties in a bid to form a left wing government.

The Social Democrats co-leaders met with Mary Lou McDonald earlier as parties continue to suss each other out.

The Sinn Féin leader put more pressure on Fianna Fáil this morning – saying the party needs to decide if it’s going to back the change people voted for.

Fianna Fáil’s Parliamentary Party is meeting at the moment in Leinster House in what’s expected to be a tense discussion about what went wrong in the election, and whether to do business with Sinn Féin.

Some in the party are dead against meeting Sinn Féin. Others see it as the realpolitik in the light of the election
