Party executives criticised for handling of nomination of local election candidates

Some candidates and Councillors have criticised their party executives for how they dealt with the nomination of candidates.

Fine Gael’s Seán McKiernan hit out at Fine Gael after he was moved to the Cavan-Belturbet area. In Monaghan, Fianna Fáil’s Seamus Coyle said the party should have run two candidates in Ballybay-Clones and would have been in with a chance of winning another seat.
