Scotstown secured a 4-2 penalty shootout win to progress to the Greenfield foods Monaghan senior football semi-finals.
60+ minutes could not separate the sides as they finished 2-8 to 14 after normal time, Christopher and Cormac McKenna finding the Scotstown net in the second-half.
Scotstown had led nine points to three at half-time, the second half goals bringing Truagh right back into the game as an extra-time couldn’t break the deadlock as the sides finished 2-13 to 19 points.
Scotstown’s Darren Hughes and Shane Carey and Truagh’s Paudie McKenna and Christopher McKenna both converted their penalties.
Conor McCarthy scored Scotstown’s third penalty with Truagh failing to convert their third and fourth spot kick’s with James Turley converting Scotstown fourth spot kick to seal a 4-2 win.

Scotstown progress to the semi-finals while Truagh now enter the backdoor with a second bite of the cherry to make the semi-finals.
