People from Cavan and Monaghan are being encouraged be mindful of climate change. The public have been invited to make submissions to the council’s draft climate change adaption strategy.
An information meeting is taking place in the Iontas Centre, Castleblayney at 7.30pm this evening, which will aims to allow people to give their opinions on what should be included in the strategy. Michael Callaghan of the Green Party has encouraged people to make submissions, He says “County councils can play a vital role in building a sustainable future, and it is really important that we use our voices to tell them what is important to us”
TD Brendan Smith has also said that the public should support efforts to introduce climate action measures. The representative is deeply concerned about the growing level of plastic and other rubbish that is building up around waterways and along roadsides.
