People considering a move to the country could benefit under a new scheme being launched today.
The government will offer grants to those willing to restore and live in older buildings in rural towns and villages.
The scheme has a 60 million euro price tag, to be shared out across areas like enterprise, infrastructure, education and tourism.
The ‘Realising our Rural Potential’ plan devised by local Minister Heather Humphreys is modelled on the previous Government Action Plans on Jobs and will invest in 600 locations.
She says that the scheme will also include a pilot to encourage people to live in town and village centres.
