A Fianna Fail Councillor is calling for people in County Monaghan to sign a petition in relation to the condition of the roads in the county.
Councillor PJ O’Hanlon says the €7.68 million in funding for County Monaghan, falls short of what is required to maintain the county’s national roads.
For years Councillor O’Hanlon has been outspoken in his criticism regarding the decrease of roads funding for the county.
Last year roads funding in County Monaghan saw an almost 50% decrease in comparison to funding in 2011.
Councillor O’Hanlon spoke to Northern Sound News, he says the people of Monaghan can have a vital say on the road infrastructure in the county.
