The Templeport Development Association has appealed for people fishing in the area to take home all fishing lines and hooks.
It's after a swan was discovered in the area in recent days with fishing line entwined around its wing and mouth. It's not known if the male Mute Swan had also swallowed a hook.
The group has appealed for anyone in the area to dispose of their fishing lines and hooks and litter responsibly.
