Planning for next year’s Virginia Show to begin once today’s event finishes

Planning for next year’s Virginia Show will begin once today’s event finishes.

Show President Pat Gaynor said it takes almost a full year to organise and prepare for the annual agricultural show.

Thousands are expected to attend the 78th running of the event at the Showgrounds in the town, with the area open until 5 o’clock today.

One of the highlights is the Diageo Baileys Irish Champion Dairy Cow competition which has a prize of €10,000.

Former Show Secretary Katherine Murtagh told The Joe Finnegan Show earlier that another great event is expected this year:

Speaking to Northern Sound, Pat Gaynor said the committee works tirelessly in the weeks before the show.
