Carrickmacross Tidy Towns are hoping to finalise plans for a dog park in the town in the coming weeks.
The committee are approaching their 35th Anniversary and in that time have moved from being ranked in the top 8 worst towns in Ireland in the 1980’s to the top 4 best towns in last year’s adjudication.
They have continued to embark on new campaigns including reducing waste and helping the environment through a scheme to return plastic bottles to the local Supervalu.
But, the dog park is their next goal to tackle the growing problems with dog fouling which has been reported over the last number of years.
