The Minister of State for Heritage says his recent trip to Cavan has highlighted the importance of developing heritage policies.
Minister Malcolm Noonan visited a number of sites across the county on Friday, and met with the community groups behind their success.
He told The Wider View that it was a very enjoyable day for him.
His final stop of the day was to visit Drumlane Abbey and Round Tower. Chris Kirk from the Drumlane Hertiage Group gave a bit of a background to the work they've been undertaking this year, and the importance of having the Minister in the area.
Minister Noonan's visit was organised by local TD Niamh Smyth, who said it was a great opportunity for local groups to meet with Government and Department officials.
