The attempted arson attack at the home of a relative of a QIH Director is being described as a “cowardly act”
Police are investigating the incident that took place outside Derrylin in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The PSNI responded to a report of attempted criminal damage at around 3am on Saturday morning.
There was also an attempt to set fire to two cars during the incident.
Detective Inspector Michael Winters said the PSNI is “working to establish a motive for this cowardly act”.
A spokesperson for Quinn Industrial Holdings confirmed to Northern Sound News that a relative of one of the company’s directors lives at the property.
In a statement, Liam McCaffrey said the resumption of violence and intimidation towards the company Directors is concerning, “given the savage kidnap and torture of Kevin Lunney last September”.
Four men area currently before the Courts in relation to the kidnapping and assault of Mr Lunney.
This is the first reported act of intimidation towards the company and its management this year.
The QIH Chief Executive said it shows “perpetrators will stop at nothing until those directing their activities are brought to justice”
Police are appealing for anyone who was on the Belturbet Road around that time on Saturday, and noticed any unusual activity, including any vehicles being driven in a suspicious manner, to contact them.
