QIH said raids mark milestone in tackling acts of intimidation

The Chair of the Cavan Joint Policing Committee says Gardaí and Police must continue their hard work to prosecute those behind the attack on Kevin Lunney.

This afternoon more than 100 Gardai searched five locations in Cavan, three in Longford and four in Dublin.

This morning the PSNI is searched four homes and a business in Derrylin – the village where Kevin Lunney was abducted.

Councillor John Paul Feeley says today’s searches are welcome but more work is needed.

Speaking to Northern Sound News he said those behind the attack need to be brought to justice:

Quinn Industrial Holdings has also welcomed the developments.

A statement issued this afternoon says the searches mark an important milestone in bringing those involved in attacks on its staff to justice.

The company also welcomed the establishment of the joint PSNI and Garda investigation.

Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan says he is confident this will lead to justice being served to those involved.
