Gardaí have confirmed that they’re investigating the alleged assault of two Quinn Industrial Holdings directors in Ballyconnell this afternoon. The incident happened at around 1.30 in a shop in the town.
The two men received facial injuries, which are not believed to be serious. The culprit escaped from the scene after QIH staff and members of the public intervened. The company issued a statement condemning the incident and thanking members of the public who came to their aid. Gardaí have confirmed that they’re investigating. A Spokesperson said no arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
It’s the latest in a series of serious events involving QIH directors which has seen cars set alight and other incidents take place. In a statement, QIH Chief Executive Liam McCaffrey said “Cowardly unprovoked attacks of this nature cannot be allowed to go unpunished and we trust the Authorities will deal with this accordingly.”
