Reality shows should not be scrapped says women’s group chairperson

Chairperson of Monaghan’s Women’s group Fiona McCaffrey Jones has said that reality shows and events such as ladies day should not be scrapped.

It comes after comments made in an article in the Irish Independent which suggested that shows such as The Rose of Tralee and Love Island, should be scrapped so women will be taken seriously.

The chairperson said that the shows should not be taken seriously and are not a measure of women’s value in society.
