With all GAA action at a stand still due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, the first thought was with the players who were continuing to maintain training schedules with the hope of getting back on to the playing fields possibly in the Autumn.
Also missing out is the officials, particularly those referees that would have been forming the national panel and looking forward to championship encounters.
Cavans Noel Mooney was one of those who was looking forward to a busy Summer.
The Cavan Gaels clubman remarked that he made the decision himself to pick up the whistle and was mindfully aware that more often than not it is a role that can incur a lot of criticism but he passes no remarks on it
Noel was part of the national panel of referees who completed a virtual run recently raising over €25,000 for Pieta House.
