Rents in Cavan and Monaghan on the rise again according to new index figures

Rents in Cavan and Monaghan went up significantly in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2016.

New figures on rent rates have been published by the Residential Tenancies Board Rent Index. The report illustrates that rents in Monaghan grew at 13% per annum with those moving into the rental property market now paying an average of €627.

Meanwhile, Cavan was one of the counties with the slowest growing rent rates. Rent rates grew by around 4% per annum, with renters now paying €571.

The group representing estate agents say that rent prices around the country are playing catch-up to Dublin.
