More reports of election posters being defaced and stolen

There are reports that more election posters in the region have been defaced.

Two candidates in the Carrickmacross-Castleblayney area have reported graffiti and expletives being drawn on some of their posters in the Oram and Castleblayney areas.

Aoife McCooey has said it’s “extremely upsetting” to see her posters defaced, with profanities scrawled across them.

Rory McEvoy has said he’s had posters removed in the region, with them reappearing in other parts. He’s also reported posters being defaced overnight.

It follows reports of posters being stolen across the region over the past week with others being destroyed, particularly in the Ballybay-Clones areas and around Mullagh.
