‘There’s concern that more revelations may be coming down the track in relation to false Garda figures.’
That’s according to local Sinn Féin TD Caoimhghín O’Caoláin, who is the Chairman of the Joint Committee on Justice and Equality. Garda Commissioner Nóirín O’Sullivan appeared before the Committee last Thursday to answer questions in relation to the false recording of breath tests and wrongful traffic convictions.
The Committee yesterday issued a further 27 questions to the Commissioner, which she is required to respond to by noon next Tuesday. Deputy O’Caoláin says that there’s a concern in the Justice Committee that more revelations of discrepancies in Garda data, could soon come to light.
