Rural broadband should be to the fore in rebuilding economy

A local Councillor says the rural broadband should be at the fore the economy rebuilds.

Sinn Fein’s Pat Treanor said with more people working from home during the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s become clear how important good internet connectivity is.

He said people should contact the Broadband Officer of Monaghan County Council to highlight blackspots in the region in an effort to direct fibre optic technology to where it is most needed.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound News, Pat Treanor said there needs to be a focus on internet speeds going forward.
