Saint Vincent de Paul Shop in Cavan town will today mark their 35th anniversary

The Saint Vincent de Paul Shop in Cavan town will today mark their 35th anniversary with an Afternoon Tea Dance.

The event will take place in the Hotel Kilmore at 2:30pm and all proceeds will go to SVP.

The shop, which first opened its doors in 1984, became a branch of the SVP charity in 2011, but has always worked to provide those in need in the area with support in their daily lives.

Earlier this year shop volunteer, Pauline Lynch, was awarded Volunteer of the Year for her 6 years of work with the shop at the National Retail Conference, which manager Emer Hannigan said is hugely positive as volunteers are the face of their shop.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound Emer explained why she feels the shop’s popularity has increased.
