The sale of St Felim’s Hospital is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The former fever hospital site in Cavan town was put on the market in May, after the proposed sale was first revealed by Northern Sound News in August last year.
The buildings on the site, which some date back to the 1840s, includes the old fever hospital, a nursing home, a convent, nurses’ quarters and a graveyard.
Last month, the HSE said a “preferred bidder” had been identified and it was awaiting approval from the National Property Review Group.
In a statement to Northern Sound News today, a HSE Spokesperson said the closing of the sale is currently with the solicitors, and they expect the transaction to be concluded by year end.
