Seven jobs are to go with the closure of R and S Printers

Seven jobs are to go with the closure of R&S Printers.

The Monaghan town company says it is an inevitable response to current market conditions.

In a statement to Northern Sound News, R&S Printers said “it is a moment of great sadness” to make the decision to close at the end of October.

It says it was made reluctantly, after other options for the company were investigated.

R&S Printers has been a long-established family run business run from its office in The Diamond.

Seven workers will be affected by the closure, with the company saying discussions are taking place and statutory redundancy will be provided.

Current and previous staff, as well as customers of R&S Printers have been thanked for their support over the decades.

The operation and publication of its sister company “The Northern Standard” will be unaffected.

However the printing of the paper will be outsourced.
