A sexual health and awareness campaign was held in Cavan and Monaghan institutes

Both parents and young people in the region are being advised to reach out
if they have a question relating to sexual health and relationships.

A sexual health and awareness campaign took place in both Cavan and Monaghan earlier this week and allowed for third level students to educate themselves and discuss STIs and healthy relationships.

There were presentations, workshops, and a sexual health advisor from the
Mater Hospital on site providing one on one information and supply free home
testing kits.

However, the need for more discussions at home and between parents and young
people was highlighted as crucial when it comes to proper education in this
area.

Barry McSkeane the LGBT+ Youth Development Officer for Cavan/Monaghan is
asking parents and young people to reach out to him through his information sessions or cafe meetups if they are concerned or want more information.
