Sheffield United have broken their transfer record to sign Republic of Ireland forward Callum Robinson from Preston.
Robinson whose grandmother hails from Monaghan signed for the Premier League newcomers for an undisclosed fee believed to be £6 million.
The 24-year old becomes the fourth Ireland international at Bramall Lane and has flown to Portugal to meet his new team-mates on the pre-season training camp but will not play in Friday night’s friendly with Real Betis.
The pacey forward is a product of Aston Villa’s youth system and he played four times during his time at Villa Park, including in the Premier League..
