Six local teams through to Junk Kouture national final

Six local teams have made it through to the Junk Kouture national final. St Bricin’s College Belturbet had the most success, with two of the finalists coming from the west Cavan school.

Teams from Beech Hill College, Ballybay Community School, Saint Louis Secondary School Monaghan town and the Monaghan Collegiate also got through the North Region semi-final held in Derry on Friday night.

The competition, sponsored by Bank of Ireland, challenges secondary school students to create unique, original and innovative outfits from recycled materials and junk. The national winner will be announced on May 2nd at the Grand Final in the 3Arena.
