Slight increase in number of people waiting for appointments in Cavan General Hospital

There’s been a slight increase in the number of people waiting for hospital appointments in Cavan General Hospital.

The latest figures from the National Treatment Purchase Fund show 7,359 people were waiting for outpatient appointments last month.

These figures show an increase of 138 people waiting for outpatient appointments in Cavan General between January and February.

Of those, 276 have been waiting more than a year and a half.

2,329 have been waiting up to three months for an appointment.

Orthopaedics is the speciality with the most people waiting. The NTPF data shows 1,690 people on that list, with 1,378 waiting for ENT appointments.

The number waiting for inpatient or day case appointments increased by nine over the same period, with 349 on the list in February – the majority of waits relate to general surgery.
