Social workers are under increased pressure because children from Dublin are getting placements in the border region.

A Tulsa Social Work Practitioner says social workers are spending their entire day travelling to and from meetings with children. This was leading to increased stress, as necessary travel isn’t reflected in a reduced caseload.

Bernard Cantillon was speaking at an Oireachtas Committee on the recruitment and retention of social workers.
