Fr Darcy calls on society to put more effort into building communities

A priest and popular broadcaster from County Fermanagh has been awarded an OBE. Fr Brian Darcy has received the prestigious award of Order of the British Empire for his work on cross community services.

This is not the first time that the priest has been offered the award, but he previously refused it, as he felt he should not be rewarded for “doing work that a priest would naturally do”.

He has now accepted the award to honour those who participate in cross community work. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show today, the priest highlighted that society needs to be more focused on trying to build positive communities.
