Students in Cavan highly commended for their Young Environmentalist project

Students at Coláiste Dún an Rí have been “highly commended” for their Young Environmentalist project.

They looked at how chicken feathers could be recycled and used as an insulator.

With help from Manor Farm and Kingspan, they were fit to see how their idea could become a reality.

Although not a winner, the students were highly commended in the Junior Waste category.

Teach na nDaoine represented Monaghan in the Young Environmentalist Awards with their biodiversity project which featured “Roddy the Giant”.

The ECO-UNESCO supported awards recognise the efforts of 10 to 18 year olds who are working to improve the world around them.
