Substantial damage caused to Virginia College during break in

Substantial damage was caused to Virginia College in a break in in recent days. A considerable sum of money was taken by the culprits. This incident took place early last Friday morning after the culprits cut the power to the school building, before breaking their way in.

It’s believed they used a sledgehammer to break through locked doors as they made their way around the building. A considerable sum of money was stolen during the incident.

Management had to cancel classes last Friday because of the damage caused to the building. Classes returned as normal today after the bank holiday weekend but repairs are ongoing. Gardaí have confirmed they’re investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact Bailieborough Garda Station. Local Councillor in the area Shane P O’Reilly has appealed for people to contact the authorities if they have information on the incident.
