There was success for both Cavan and Monaghan in the Irish Restaurant Awards last night. The awards celebrate the achievements of those in the Irish restaurant industry over the last 12 months and attendees are treated to a dinner prepared by previous winners of the Awards.
Cavan’s Oak Room won the Best Kids Size Meal Category for Ulster, while The Olde Post Inn won The Best Free From Category in Ulster. Monaghan also claimed awards with The Coach House and Olde Bar winning Pub of the Year for Ulster and Dinkins Home Bakery and Café claiming The Best Café Award in the province. There was also national success for Cavan as Neven Maguire’s Cookery School won the overall award for the best cookery school in Ireland.
These winners were all chosen from the 90,000 nominations put forward when the competition began in January.
