The Tánaiste will address a major Brexit conference in Monaghan today.
The Getting Ireland Brexit Ready event is the latest in a series around the country set up by Government to address issues around Brexit.
With no meaningful progress made in Brexit talks this week, it’s expected today’s conference will hear concerns from local businesses and individuals about the possible return of a hard border.
The event is one of a number being held around the country for those most impacted by Brexit.
The Tánaiste Simon Coveney, EU Affairs Minister Helen McEntee and Business Minister Heather Humphreys are all expected to address the meeting.
Minister Humphreys yesterday warned people to prepare for the worst with Brexit, but said the Government was working to get the best deal for Ireland.
Today’s conference is taking place in the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan town.
