Taoiseach regrets comments on Waterford Hospital mortuary if they deter whistleblowers

Leo Varadkar says he regrets if his comments on the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford have discouraged further HSE whistleblowers.

It’s after four consultants at the hospital claimed bodies had been left decomposing on trolleys and even the floor of the mortuary.

The hospital says there’s no evidence to support that and the Taoiseach has echoed that claim.  Leo Varadkar said he wasn’t aiming to undermine what the consultants said:
