A tender has been issued for a new two-storey fire station in Ballyjamesduff.
Local councillors had recently complained that the station is not fit for purpose and commended the fire service for putting up with the current facilities.
The new station is expected to be “almost identical” to the recently opened station in Virginia.
Phase eight planning permission for the new fire station had been approved at the end of February and the closing date for tender applications is the 25th of June.
