Tenders for the Cavan town flood alleviation scheme are expected to be published shortly.
OPW Minister Patrick O'Donovan says the scheme is progressing after it was announced in 2019.
He says the County Council and OPW are working to assess the needs of the 110 properties included and tenders are expected to be published shortly.
Almost €76,000 for works in various other parts of Cavan was recently approved.
Meanwhile, Minister O'Donovan says flood relief schemes in three parts of Monaghan will be progressed "as soon as possible".
The projects in Ballybay, Iniskeen and Monaghan town were not included in the first round of the programme.
