Theresa May asks to extend Brexit to June 30th

Theresa May has asked for a Brexit extension until June 30th. The British Prime Minister said she only wants a short delay to the UK’s departure from the EU.

Going any longer than June 30th would mean Britain would have to elect MEPs for the new European Parliament. The Government here says it will consider recent developments including the Prime Ministers letter at its cabinet meeting this afternoon.
