Transition Students from Beech Hill College in Monaghan will compete in the final of the Young Scientist Competition

Transition Students from Beech Hill College in Monaghan will compete in the final of the Young Scientist Competition on Tuesday.

The event will take place in Dublin Castle and will see students from around the country make a presentation on their chosen topic, as well as showing a one minute video they have created for the competition.

The six Beechhill students competing have focused on waste reduction and the removal of all plastics from their school, and have come up with the tagline ‘Plexit’.

As part of their project they have secured funding from Monaghan County Council to provide all staff and students with re-useable water bottles, as well as removing all plastic cutlery from their canteen.
