Twenty new Gardaí begin work across Cavan and Monaghan

Twenty new Gardaí have begun work in the region this week after the latest passing out at Templemore.

There are also three new Gardaí who graduated from this region this week.

The graduation of Intake 191 Gardaí took place on Sunday and saw 197 passing out from Templemore college.

Out of the graduates a total of 20 Gardai will be deployed throughout the Northern Sound Region.

Three will go to Carrickmacross, Castleblayney will welcome six of the class, and Monaghan will have three deployed to the area.

Cavan town is receiving the greatest deployment in the region with 8 going there.

There were also three graduates from the region.

John Mulligan from Monaghan who will be stationed in Buncrana, Lisa Cole also from Monaghan who will be deployed to Milford, and finally Cailin Donohoe from Cavan who will be sent to Ashbourne.

The 197 garda graduates have spent the last 34 weeks preparing for life in the force and are now read to be deployed to stations nationwide.
