Two-day tractor protest in Dublin highlights the ‘frustration’ of farmers

A protest by hundreds of farmers has led to road closures and traffic delays in Dublin City Centre this afternoon.

The two-day demonstration has been organised by the Individual Farmers of Ireland, but isn’t supported by the main farming organisations.

The tractors will gather on Kildare Street this afternoon, with some protestors planning to stay overnight.

Road closures are in effect around Leinster House on Molesworth Street, St Stephen’s Green, Kevin Street and Merrion Square.

Longford farmer and Councillor Pauric Brady described the Individual Farmers of Ireland as people who were on the pickets but have since been let down by the IFA and other organisations.
