The entire county of Cavan, and the Ballybay-Clones area of Monaghan has a 14-day rate of under 201.

Previously one of the highest regions in the country, the Ballybay-Clones MD now has the lowest rate across Cavan and Monaghan.

There were just 19 new cases in the two weeks up to Monday, giving an incidence rate of 110.

The three areas of Cavan have an almost equal share of Covid-19 cases.

Ballyjamesduff is the highest with a rate of 170, Bailieborough-Cootehill is 168, and Cavan-Belturbet had 165 cases per 100,000 population.

Carrickmacross-Castleblayney had 52 cases in the last 14 days, giving it a rate about the national average, at 242.

The north Monaghan LEA is again the highest in the two counties, with a rate of 255.

Yesterday, and for the second day in a row, there were fewer than 5 cases confirmed in both Cavan and Monaghan.
